Stage Management + CTP = DONE!!!
CTP are a strange wee bunch of people!! Good fun, but they have weird ways of thinking… So just finished stage management elective, well half of it. Based down the arches, which btw is totally not as glamorous as it looks on club nights, and also, totally think they should set up a crystal maze night, instead of this alien wars crap!!! Anyway…yeah it was alright, most of it a bit over my head, when it came to the technical stuff though, which i can’t thank Vicki Wilson enough for, cause on the 2nd day there, she asked me to switch on the speakers and i couldn’t even find the friggin on/off switch…then we tried to make a tv work, took it apart, checked the fuses EVERYTHING, turns out we hadn’t plugged it in 
…. but in defense we had a shit day and were doing everyone elses work in their venues by helping to set up!! yeah cheers guys for the returning favour, your help in our venue couldn’t have been more useful!!!! (sarcasim)…. Eh what else, not much really most of the first few days was spent trying to fix things that we had broken during set up’s, and trying to recruit our radio mics and tvs that had dissapeared with the arches crew boys!!! Oh and trying to get by the alien wars kids, and bumping into 7ft tall aliens with some form of machine gun, trying to sneak in food and starbucks in without the managers seeing….and they didnt even give us a common room place thing to go to… they were a bit arsey to be honest!!! Steven though the lovely man he is, found us a random room and stole some money from the arches petty cash, bought us tea/coffee/chocolate and shortbread haaaa!! lovin him!!!!…..I dont like this blogging thing, i dont even know what to write….. Eh ok productive stuff, yeah it was ok, good experience to work on ctp stuff, but im still not understanding the actual structural part of it, felt kinna like i was there to do the dirty work, which yeah i’ll get my hands dirty but would have been good to also see the paperwork side of things and the general jist of the stage managers actual responsibilites….but still have a few more bits here and there to do…….anyway i totally need to go sort out money stuff, cause i have none….
